Environment Information System is a nationwide network established by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India. Resource Partners from The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI) are jointly organizing a one day seminar to discuss issues in climate change and desertification through renewable energy solutions. The seminar will focus on the future of renewable energy expansion for enhanced energy availability in arid, semi-arid, and dry regions of Rajasthan which are under the threat of desertification. It will discuss technological and policy-based solutions for a move towards increased renewable energy capacity in the state, which can serve as adaptation and mitigation pathways for the dry region. It will also provide a platform to share best practices, models, experiences, and lessons learned.
