Seminar on “RE-ENVIS 2015” -Ecological Aspects of Renewable Energy Development in India
​The residential course on "Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP)", initiated on 4 September, was organized by the Library and Information Centre, Knowledge Management Division, in collaboration with Centre for Rural Action, Rural Energy and Livelihoods Division, under Environment Information System (ENVIS), a flagship scheme of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India. In line with MoEFCC's skill development programme, the purpose of the GSDP training course is to create solar awareness and livelihood generation among the Indian youth.
 
 
The valedictory session of Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) on "Sustain and Enhance Technical Knowledge on Solar Energy Systems" was successfully conducted in Purnea, Bihar, on 5 October. 
The session was attended by Mr Pradeep Kumar Jha, DM and Collector, Purnea; Mr Yashvir Singh, Economic Advisor, MoEFCC; Mr Sanjay Pandey, Jaya Vaishnavi Agency, Lakhisarai, Bihar; and Mr Sunirmal Gareen, District Project Manager, Jeevika, Purnea. 
 
 
 
The course has received huge publicity coverage in the local media and the district administration has agreed to help these students pursue further training for livelihood generation activities. 
 
 
Immensely happy and proud of the learning acquired during the 240-hour course, the participants expressed their gratitude to TERI and MoEFCC for this noble initiative; many of them even presented ideas to become entrepreneurs in the field after the course.
