The first Earth Day in 1970 celebrations demanded right to clean air, clean water, and protect endangered species. This year's 50th-anniversary of Earth Day highlights the need for global climate action. As the Himalayas are melting and the Amazon is burning, our window to mitigate climate change is shrinking. We have to immediately cut back greenhouse gas emissions, adapt sustainable lifestyles, reduce pollution of air, water, land, and restore biodiversity for future generations.
