CCSI will be recognized as a premier research organization, partner, and source of knowledge for understanding climate change, evaluating its interactions with human and natural systems, and informing adaptation and mitigation policy and strategies.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change -IPCC

The IPCC is an organization of governments that are members of the United Nations or WMO. The IPCC currently has 195 members. Thousands of people from all over the world contribute to the work of the IPCC. For the assessment reports, The IPCC provides regular assessments of the scientific basis of climate change, its impacts and future risks, and options for adaptation and mitigation.

The Global Climate Forum

The Global Climate Forum initiates and performs high-class research on climate change in close interaction with stakeholders. We provide a pluralistic communication platform in the emerging global field of governments, local authorities, businesses, and social movements.

Data Distribution Centre

The DDC has been established to facilitate the timely distribution of a consistent set of up-to-date scenarios of changes in climate and related environmental and socio-economic factors for use in climate impacts assessments. The intention is that these new assessments can feed into the review process of the IPCC.

Climate Change Knowledge Portal

The CCKP provides a web-based platform to assist in capacity building and knowledge development. The aim of the portal is to help provide development practitioners with a resource to explore, evaluate, synthesize, and learn about climate related vulnerabilities and risks at multiple levels of details. Using climate science research results to inform the decision making process concerning policies or specific measures needed to tackle climate impacts, or even to understand low carbon development processes, is often a difficult, yet crucial, undertaking.

New Climate Institute

NewClimate Institute supports research and implementation of action against climate change around the globe. We generate and share knowledge on international climate negotiations, tracking climate action, climate and development, climate finance and carbon market mechanisms. We connect up-to-date research with the real world decision making processes, making it possible to increase ambition in acting against climate change and contribute to finding sustainable and equitable solutions.

The Global Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation PROVIA

The Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA) is a global initiative which aims to provide direction and coherence at the international level for research on vulnerability, impacts and adaptation (VIA). Launched with the support of leading scientists and decision-makers, PROVIA responds to the urgent call by the scientific community for a more cohesive and coordinated approach, and the critical need to harmonize, mobilize, and communicate the growing knowledge-base on VIA.

Greening the Blue

On World Environment Day, a new UN initiative, “Greening the Blue”, will be launched as a one-stop shop for UN staff who are interested in creating a more sustainable United Nations. The UN system, which vigorously advocates the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and fosters better climate change policies, seeks to encourage, through this new initiative, deeper and faster changes in all UN organizations toward greater environmental practices, as well as to highlight the progress achieved so far.

India Climate Dialogue

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has recently reconfirmed that human-induced global warming is gathering pace and is affecting many critical aspects of life including food, water, energy and livelihood security. The reasons for climate change increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide, due to fossil fuel use are also scientifically well-established by now.

United Nations Climate Change

The UNFCCC secretariat (UN Climate Change) was established in 1992 when countries adopted the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).With the subsequent adoption of the Kyoto Protocol in 1997 and the Paris Agreement in 2015, Parties to these three agreements have progressively reaffirmed the secretariat’s role as the United Nations entity tasked with supporting the global response to the threat of climate change.Since 1995, the secretariat is located in Bonn, Germany.

UNDP Climate Change Adaptation

The UNDP Climate Change Adaptation Portal is a knowledge-sharing platform that highlights UNDP-supported climate adaptation projects around the world. We share information on country-led programmes and projects financed by the Global Environment Facility Least Developed Country Fund (LDCF), Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF), Green Climate Fund, Adaptation Fund (AF), bi-lateral donors and through decentralized cooperation supported by UNDP’s Down to Earth: Territorial Approach to Climate Change (TACC) project.

Launched in 2010, NASA's Climate Kids website tells the story of our changing planet through the eyes of the NASA missions studying Earth. Targeting upper-elementary-aged children, the site is full of games, activities and articles that make climate science accessible and engaging.
